Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
New transmission in truck that was not properly fixed over a 1 year period
Paid a car repair garage $2000 to replace a transmission in truck. They in turn had another garage do the work. After the repair truck did not seem right, still having transmission related problems, we were told a new transmission needed to be broken in. Took it back 6 months later, within warranty time period, there was in fact a transmission problem, was supposedly fixed a 2nd time, now 6 months later still having problems, we are being told warranty has expired and we will have to pay for another transmission. We feel since it was never truly fixed and we are about 3 weeks out of the warranty they should fix the truck for free. The original place we went to is trying to pass us off to the garage that did the work and we feel the original garage should take responsibility and help in the process. anythign legally be done to get our truck repaired at no additional cost to us?

You should consider filing a small claims action against the shop you hired. It's their problem. You will need an expert to testify on your behalf (certified transmission mechanic).
