car reprosession

How do I settle a reprosession issue.

The car was reprosessed in 2003 and I

had paid several thousand of dollars

until I was unable to paid. The finance

company sold the car and made money.

I am willing to get this issue over, but

they are asking for $12,000 and the

the car didn't even cost that much in

the first place, it was a used 2001

Hyuandi. I feel that a fair settlement

should be no more than 2 or $3,000

and I am willing to make payments on

that. they are telling me that if I make

payments, than It would have to be on

the $12,000 they are asking for. Is this

right or fair? Help! I think that they are

trying to bully me.
