Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Collections company threathning to issue an arrest warrant

In the year 2004, I issued a check for the amount of $1,010. the check was returned for insufficient funds. My mother than wrote a check for the same amount to the same person. Now, I have received a call from a collections company called Processing and Recovery in Jacksonville, FL. They are threatning to issue an arrest warrant if I dont pay in two hours. I explained to them what the situation is and they didn't care. I contacted my mothers bank to get a copy of the check that was cashed by the person who says we owe her money. I dont know what to do and I dont want to have any legal trouble.
