Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

My daughter was taken to the doctor by her mother,while living with her mother at the age of thirteen.The bill was never paid by her mother.Now five years later,at the age of eighteen,this doctor is threatning t damage my daughters credit if not paid in full.Is this possible?What action should I take?
