Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Credit Report
Can a creditor put the same debt or judgetment on your credit report under different company names more than once so it looks like you have four bad debts instead of one? Is that legal? doesnt it lengthen the statue of limitations? what is the statute of limitations for auto loan defaults? The debts have no begining or ending dates on them.

No. One debt should be reported once. If you need an attorney, please feel free to call me.

Negative credit should not be reported several times under different corporate entities. While it does not enlarge the period of time that your bad marks will be on your credit history it will seem as if there were more bad experiences than actually happened, thus having a much more detrimental effect on your credit score. You should demand proof of the debts from the credit reporting agencies and if they cannot provide the proof of individual debts within 30 days, demand that they be removed from your record.
