What creditors can do?

I cosign for a car that was repo. Can creditors place a lien on my home,garnish my checks if I donot pay them the hole cash amount in one lumpsum. What options, if any do I have.

If you qualify as head of household, then the items you mention are exempt from execution. Also your hoome, if it is your homestead cannot be liened

They must first obtain a money judgment against you. It would be to your benefit to work out a payment schedule.
