Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Last Date of Payment 1/21/01

I aquired a credit card in SC and was unable to make payments after 1/21/01. It is now 1/31/08 and I moved to florida. I am now getting calls several times a day from someone claiming to be a law office and I need to make arrangements to pay it. I thought statute of limitations was 7 years. If so how do I get the calls to stop. I have already told them to stop calling but the calls are still coming in. Please help me I am a single parent trying to get my feet back under me from massive credit damage in 01-02.
