Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I owe an apartment some money but me and anothers person name was on the lease. The money has been taken up by a lawyer to get the money from us. I wanted to know if a can get the money owed split in half between me and the other person? We both live and diffrent states and he does not one to pay his half. What to do.

You can pay the full amount and then sue your friend to reimburse you. Alternatively, you can try to negotiate a settlement with the apt that you will pay your half or a little more voluntarily and save them the legal expense of having to sue for it and let them pursue your friend for the remainder.
