debt collections process

can a debt purchase company charge more than the original charge off ,when they purchased an old account? for example;the c/o date 5-2001,they bought account 5-2003,and they are charging $2000. more stating charges incurred,but the date in curred is 5-2001 same date of c/o i am paying every month,by stipulation i do not think some charges are leagal,have all papers with dates and amounts,and old credit reports all numbers are different.and i think sol expired but they re aged debt the company is asset acceptance llc.

You should consult with an attorney if you think SOL expired and they are trying to make you pay. If you pay anything on an old debt, you start up the SOL again. If you would like to contact this office for a consult, please call me.
