Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Deceased spouse credit card debt
My spouse owed $15k to a single cr. card co. when he passed away. can I be forced to pay even though my name was not on the acc't? I had $20k life insurance on him. Can the Ins. co. claim part of that? Thanks

You cannot be forced to pay if you were not on the card. If she has an estate, it might be liable for the amount if the estate had any assets.
