Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Divorce and Repossess

Currently undergoing divorce. I signed as co-signer for my ex-wife's car, which she has in her custody. She hasn't been making payments and her whereabouts are unknown. The bank is coming down on me for the late payments because they cannot locate her or the car. What rights do I have?

Re: Divorce and Repossess

If you were a co-signer, you are obligated to pay. You can, however, sue your wife. Since you are undergoing divorce, I would let your divorce attorney know of the situation and if you need a civil attorney, please feel free to call my office.
