can filing bankruptcy stop calls saying im being sued for a credit debt over 10yrs old

Yes but also be aware that if it's a contractual obligation that is over 5 years old from the time you defaulted, then it might be legally unenforceable anyway. Of course, they could still report it on your credit report but if it is indeed more than 10 years old, then it should not appear there either.

Bankruptcy will stop the phone calls and, more importantly, will stop the alleged lawsuit. You should meet with a bankruptcy attorney in your area to discuss your circumstances.
