Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

harassing phone call

Is it legal for a bill collector to continue to call when they have been told that the bills in questions are not ours. They belong to our son who has never lived with us and we have never signed as cosigner?

Re: harassing phone call

If you send them a letter saying you dispute the bill and not to contact you again pusuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act then they can't contact you; only sue if they want to proceed. If they then continue to contact you, you can sue them for violation of the Act. Please contact if you want to proceed against the debt collector.
