Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Idenity Theft-Mortgage Co. Employee
My mortage company previously employed a person who stole my credit information when refinancing my home. So far up to $30,000 in purchases using my credit info. Are there legal ramifications against my mortgage company?

Possibly, but it's a real long-shot. If the thief had a criminal record of fraud, and the mortgage company failed to check the person's background, then arguably you may have a case for negligent hiring where someone with a criminal history was placed where they had access to sensitive information.
As I said, it's a real long-shot.
