Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Judgements

I recently had a collection agency purchase a judgement that had been filed against me 11 years ago and they have filed an execution of Levy. How long is a judgement good for?

A judgment is good for 10 years from the date of recording. It can be renewed for an additional 10 years if done so before the 10 year period is up. After that, it is no longer a lien against your property in Florida.

Re: Judgements

So long as they continue to renew it, indefinitely. This doesn't mean, that you can attempt to resolve it in full satisfaction for less than the judgment amount.
