Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Medical Bill

I required transport by helicopter due to a heart attack. The company was out of network and the bill was 10,000.00 dollars. My Insurance paid 100% of usual and customary charges which was only 5300.00 dollars. The providered refuses to negotiate the balance. I have the check from the Ins. company and want to use it for leverage. Is there a minimum payment required by FL law so that it does not go to collection while I negotiate.

No. If you refuse to pay this obligation, the provider can send the bill to collection at any time. You may wish to retain an attorney to try and negotiate a resolution for you.
