Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
promissary note
I loaned a personal friend 35,000 to pay off debt. She signed a promissary note with no collateral attached. Since then, she paid off 2000 dollars and is unemployed. She has retained legal representation. Can I file a suit which could lien her house?

Re: promissary note
You cannot lien her homestead, but if she does not have a homestead exemption then you can seek to levy upon the house if you get a judgment.
