Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I was recently notified by a collection company that they will be garnishing my salary for a way past due debt of 2000.00. This past week 89.00 was taken out of my 264.00 check. Also, this is a second job. If they find out about my main job, can they garnish that as well? Is this all legal?
