i got a summons for a credit card debt

i stopped making payments on my capital one card last year in january.i got a summons to appear in court ,that capital one is suing me.and hey have hired a lawyer in miami. what shall i do,i have a optin to call him and make a settlemnt or go to court?what are my options?
