Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Unsecured credit card debit

I have a credit card that I am unable to pay off and the company has given it to a collection agency. The agency has offered to cut the debit in half but I am still unable to pay that and don't think I could even arrange payment arrangements with them because I don't have any extra money right now. The collection agency is threating to sue me but I didn't think they could because it was an unsecrued credit card. Am I right or are they able to to that? Also would they be able to garrish my wages?

Re: Unsecured credit card debit

They can sue you. Yes they could garnish your wages if they got a judgment against you and an order of garnishment. However, there are limitations and exceptions to garnishment which may limit what they could do with your wages.
