1 Answer from Attorneys
Burglary of a conveyance is a 3rd degree felony and a level 4 offense. This means that carries a maximum sentence of 5 years, but because you will only score 22 points there will be no minimum sentence. You could be sentenced to any prison sentence under 5 years, any jail sentence, probation or even just a fine. Because this is your first offense, you may also be eligible for pre-trial diversion, which is a program that requires you to do community service hours and take some classes. If you complete all the requirements of pre-trial diversion, the State drops the charges against you. You should speak to a criminal defense attorney to determine all of your options before entering any plea.
