Yes, you can. However, in order to successfully represent yourself in criminal proceedings, it's advisable to have an attorney.

If you have no money you are eligible for a public defender. Use them. If you can afford an attorney, ask yourself how much should I pay to avoid 5 years in prison?
I know this is in no way a laughing matter to you, but you asked if you could represent yourself in court without a lawyer, and attorney Luba Smal responded, "...in order to successfully represent yourself in criminal proceedings, it's advisable to have an attorney." WHAT?! I'll be laughing about that for a week, though I'm sorry it had to be at your expense. Please pay attention to Mr. Epifanio's wiser advice, and I wish you the best of luck with your case.
