Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Credit Card Fraud

My Father passed away in 2002. He had a credit card with a balance of 38,000 and in 2003 I added myself as a user on the account to help support the estate. I racked up 40,000 in charges that year. I continued to pay the minimum balance of $700 a month til Novenmber of 2004. I could no longer make the payments and the creditors called me to collect. They knew my father had passed at this time and I payed them 17,000 between December 2004 and February 2005. After I continued to make the minimum payment til June of 05. I have not payed them since they stopped sending e-bills to me and closed the account. They are accusing me of fraud and have reported me to the police. Can they accuse me of Fraud after they took the monies from me? What am I looking at as far as legal ramifications? Can they arrest me? Please advise.

Re: Credit Card Fraud

You can be arrested for credit card fraud. You racked up charges on a dead person's account. How can you legally add yourself to an account of a dead person? Hire a lawyer.
