Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
shoplifting
My 16 year old son and his 18 year old friend shoplifted 4 cd/dvd from a retail store. estimated less than $100. Do we need an attorney for court, I do not want this to haunt either of these good boys that made a terrible mistake.

If this is their first offense and they are offered a pretrial diversion program then you may want to accept it if you believe they were guilty. If they accept the program and successfully complete it then the state will drop the charges once they complete the program. Then they will qualify to have the case expunged.
