Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
a few years ago i was arrested for grand theft and plead no contest its was my first offense and i have adjudication withheld on my record i completed all my probation. does this mean i lost all my rights? i am in law school and want to apply for the florida bar but i know they say you cannot until your rights are restored. do i have to get my conviction sealed/expunged or do i still have my rights?

You didn't lose most of your rights if you got adjudication withheld. Understand though that you MUST disclose this charge even if you get it sealed. I don't know all the specific rules when it comes to admission (contact the Fla. Bar for specifics), but I don't know of any requirement that you must get it sealed. You are not eligible to get the charge expunged, but I STRONGLY suggest you get this sealed, as it will help you in the long run with many other matters unrelated to Bar admission, such as getting a job, getting credit, etc.
