Calling someone a racial hate name
Is there a law against a person calling you a ''nigger'' to provoke you into a fight or to downgrade you in front of others. If you hit the person that kept calling you the name, do you have any defense?

Discrimination is illegal and the words may be considered "fighting words" which may not afford the words First Amendment protection. More facts are necessary to determine what if any defense there is to the "fight" which is better handled by a criminal attorney unless the fight and altercation was also in an employment situation.
