second dui first was 11 years ago this time refused breah test hiring a lawer to drop to reckless driving what are my chances and or punshment.

You don't give much info. so it is hard to give a legal opinion. Also, I'm not sure if the new case is in Ga. or Fla. If in Fla., I can offer some help. First, be aware, if you refused to blow in the breath testing equip. in a prior case, the next time you refuse, it is a new misdemeanor by itself. So if someone is in that situation, they have to fight a DUI and a 2d charge for the refusal.
You are wise to hire a lawyer. He/she will know what to look for in the officer's reports, how to challenge the refusal (if done within 10 days), whether or not a Motion to suppress evidence can be filed (if there was an illegal stop or search)and what to argue with the State Attorney about reducing the charge to a reckless driving.
