Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I am a 17 year old girl. I live in Florida with my grandmother, but no one has official custody of me. My parents then have default type custody because no papers were ever signed. I am trying to get into highschool and get a doctor and therapy in Florida by my home there but my dad (who lives in South Carolina) won't sign over any custody papers to my grandmother. I talked with some people in the courthouse and a lawyer and the best solution we came up with is basically concerning school and it is that we have my father sign a paper saying I live with my grandmother even though he is the guardian, and have him sign any papers i need to register for school. I also found one thing online that i think might go along with that http://www.palmbeachschools.org/Forms/Documents/1543.pdf
to help me get into school while my dad doesn't give over any custody to my grandmother. I was wondering if this is a good line of action and would work out in my case or if I'd have problems registering in school with only these things.
Thank you for your time,

Certainly worth a try. Good luck.
According to the Education Code in the Florida Statutes the school has to not only allow you to register but has to help you do so. Let me know if you need any further assistance.
