Case Management

Could you please tell me what a case management hearing is?

It is in reference to a divorce. We have not done mediation yet.

Thank you

You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then you are instructed to stop here, and do not read any further.

A case management conference is a meeting set by the Court to discuss the status of the case and whether or not it is ready for trial. It is an attempt by the Judge to move his or her calendar along in a timely fashion.

It generally only takes a few minutes. Parties represented by counsel usually do not need to attend. If you are represented by an attorney, you should consult him/her for further information.
