Re: Child support

To get your driver's license back, you'll have to reduce the amount of back support you owe to below $2500.

Otherwise, all you can do is show up in court (sometimes they'll let you appear by telephone if you call and ask them ahead of time), and ask for a payment plan. You can also ask that your case be transferred to Key West.

Re: Child support

Even though your son is 18, you still owe the arrearage amount. If you are behind in your payment of the arrears, you must get this caught up or risk contempt proceedings.

Also, you must be very careful about the payment of additional support. Even though your son is 18, the child support may not automatically stop. You will need to check the original order to determine what, if anything, happens when your son turns 18. If his 18th birthday is not referenced in the order, the child support will continue indefinitely until you file a motion to stop it.

Good luck.
