Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Court order - child support for 3 children $268.00 a week. My X-husband was laid off now I'm getting $110.00 every 2 weeks. My X-husband said he's going to court and have them change the 268.00 because his girlfriend works for the government and she told him that he doesn't have to pay that kind of money. He just doesn't want it to keep building up. He does not want to pay anything to me. I didn't work for 18 years because he didn't want me to. Now I'm having trouble trying to get a job. He told me not to tell the mediator that I wanted alimony because he would pay me on the side. Now he says he's not giving me alimony. What can I do?

You didn't say if alimony was ordered as part of the divorce originally. If it wasn't, you probably can't get it now. If his income was reduced through no fault of his own, he may be able to have his child support recalculated and reduced. It won't go to zero, though. Even if you have no income, child support is calculated as if you make minimum wage except under the rarest of circumstances.
