court ordered mediation

if a couple is ordered into court mediation, and one of the persons, cancells the appointment, and the other person shows up for the appointment, what happens?

You file a request with the court to have the person who cancelled without permission sanctioned - by paying for the entire missed mediation or if mediation was free and you missed work ask for that money. (I assume you have no attorney to ask for attorney's fees or you wouldn't be writng) The mediator shouldn't have cancelled without your consent.
