Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am trying to get a divorce. I am recently separated from the military, so the lawyer at the base where I was stationed that was helping me out with the divorce is no longer able to help me. My spouse finally sent the papers she was supposed to sign, but after I had already separated. What do I need to do with the papers now to get the divorce finalized?

Hello:

No lawyer can give you a specific answer without knowing more about the filings. It is unknown what papers have been filed and what needs to be filed. Has a Petition already been filed? Have financial affidavits been filed? Are these papers the Consent Final Judgment, signed by each party? If so, you could contact the Clerk's Office, family law division and ask them to assist in getting the case on the Judge's calendar for a brief hearing.

If my office can be of any assistance, please give us a call.

You should submit the signed documents with the clerk, then set the final hearing. Bring the final judgment prepared and with you to court.
