Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I have a friend who is currently sitting in jail in FL on a $5000 cash purge for child support. He has no assets. He has no job. How long can they hold him on this cash purge? Is there any legal resource?

He is entitled to what is called a "Bowen" hearing within 48 hours of being arrested to determine what money he actually has.

If your friend is sitting in jail, then i suspect he had a hearing and was told to comply. I suggest you find what assets this person has and try to sell them to raise the money for his child support. He has something - no one just exists these days - he made money living somewhere, he ate he did something.
