Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
In the very near future I will be served with Divorce papers. The marriage is past 17 years and my 10 year old daughter is our only child. Due to a family member CPS is also involved although they have not talked to me yet. My primary question at this time is how do I get an attorney to represent me when I just do not have the funds for it. I have day to day expenses and substantial amounts of the marriage debt that my wife has not been helping with at all plus half her car payment and all her car insurance that I am paying. I make good money but will the debt and living expenses I just do not foresee being able to hire an attorney.

You will have to make a value judgment as to what's more important, car payment or defending yourself in the divorce case. Note in a marriage of this duration the presumption is in favor of the Wife that she needs alimony, also Child Support will be assessed and both can be collected involuntarily from you by an Income Deduction Order. You need to consult a local Family Law attorney.
