Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My mom is in a nursing home in florida. I am in care of her social security check. No one has power atty over her. I tried calling the facility that she is residing in and they told me that I can not speak to her or come to their facility to see her. I am in the process of moving her to the state that I reside in.Is it legal for me not to be able to speak to my mother and is it legal for them to tell me I can not come and see her.

You may wish to contact the Florida Dept of children and families and inquire about Nursing Home Abuse. I am not fully aware of that area of the law but it sounds fishy to me.
