Parent has two children 1st under 18, 2nd over 18. Parent provides insurance for both children and self. Court order stated that coverage had to be maintained for minor children until their 18th birthday. Insurance plan has three tiers; Employee, Employee plus one, and Employee plus family. Question one: Does the State of FL allow the parent to deduct from their child support calculation the portion of the insurance they pay for the 18 year old? Question two: Does the State of FL allow a parent to deduct from their child support calculation the portion of the insurance they pay for coverage for their new spouse and minor children?

There are 3 components to Child Support in Florida: Living Allowance, Health Ins costs and Day Care. All are added to CS computation. See Florida Statutes Chapter 61, Child Support. You may be able to remove the adult child but would require a Court Order.
If your insurance company can break down the amounts, then yes there would be a reduction.
