Depending upon the length of the marriage, and relative financial resources of the parties, alimony might be awarded. There are other factors to consider too.
If either party has concluded the marriage is irretrievably broken, then that is the time you should retain an attorney, and conclude a divorce. While as an attorney, it is in my interest to state this, nevertheless, it is the truth.
If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.

An internet inquiry is no substitution for an in-office consultation with an attorney.
If your situation falls within the Greater Tampa Bay area (Hillsborough, Pinellas or Pasco Counties) , I would be happy to schedule you for a no obligation half hour office consultation.

As Mr. Goldstein has stated, it will depend on the length of the marriage and the financial resources. I suggest you start looking for an attorney.
