Legal Question in Medical Leave in Florida

Family Medical Leave Act

I originally signed up for FMLA and now my disability will last longer than 12 weeks/ Can I be fired or can I now convert to long term disability to protect my job?

Might claim lt disability. If you can return to work but with some accomodation you may also request it if they don't accomodate you it could be a violation of the ADA or Florida Civil Rights Act. You really need someone to review your documents, etc. Feel free to call my office if you wisht to discuss.

Re: Family Medical Leave Act

If your company has long term disability protection, you can sign up for that. If not, after 12 weeks they do not have to hold your job any more.
