Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

a friend owes me too much for small claims

A friend was unable to work and he was in danger of losing his home,he asked me for finantial help to save his home and pay his monthly bills,(I had gotten a substantial settlement from a car wreck.)He was in the process of social security disability

litigation. He promised to pay me back when he got his S.S.D.back pay.We had no worry that he wouldn't get approved. He did get approved but he didn't get as much back pay as we had hoped because he didn't have doctors proof of being disabled and unable to work for the past 5 years. He only got it from 10/01/07 so they only paid him for 4 months back pay.Now he says he can't pay me back and he may even lose his house afterall. What if anythng can I do to get any of the over $21,000.00 He now owes me?
