Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Too late to sue?

I was in a minor car accident in my neighborhood about 2 years ago. I was at a stop sign and in house the house that lived on the corner, someone was reversing didnt see my car and by the time i noticed i accelerated and they hit hte back of my car causing my bumper to fall off and a huge dent to my car. The damages cost me about $800. This was in October 2006, is it too late to file a claim/sue?

Re: Too late to sue?

It may not be too late. The statute of limitations will govern. However, there are some other issues which are also worthy of consideration.

Re: Too late to sue?

You are still within the statute of limitations, so a suit could be filed.

Did you visit a doctor/hospital for any injuries?

In Florida you can only recover for pain and suffering if you have injuries that are "permanent" otherwise the max that you could recover is the damage to the car and out of pocket costs.

Give me a ring and we can discuss further, my office is here in South Florida.

Take care,
