Plaintiff Steps

What are the essential steps in a civil lawsuit? File, Serve, they answer-then what is the Plaintiff supposed to do? Is there a step for starting discovery?

You should read the florida rules of civil procedure. They are available online. A section describes the methods of discovery and what you do to obtain duscovery. It can be a complicated process. You will also need to check to see if there are local rules regarding discovery that you will need to follow. Those can be obtained, if there are any, from the clerk's office -- although many couties make them available online via the clerk's web page.
