rights of renters

my landlord got aressted and is about to be deported. i don't know what will happan to this property. his ex-wife came by yesterday demanding rent. what are my legal obigations to this women?

Please read your lease. You need to know who your lease is with and your responsibilities under the lease. Do not assume anything (your right or responsibility) until you know what the lease says. I recommend you have an attorney take a look at it.

It depends on who your lease is with. Your obligation is to the landlord, whether he is in the country or not. See who your lease is with and who now owns the property.
