Legal Question in Health Care Law in Florida

syringes

I recently went into a Walgreens to buy syringes. I take shots of epocrit because of kidney failure. I receive my epocrit by mail from Medco. The man in the pharmacy asked if I got my insulin from them. I explained about the procrit but he said I would have to go home and get my vials of procrit as proof. I have two doses left so I said You going to sell me just two needles? I was totally embarrassed by this situation, there were people all around and I thought my medical problems were private. I never heard of this before. Can you please tell me the law on this subject? Thank You Sherry

Re: syringes

From reading your message, I'm not sure what specifically you are asking. I can tell you that pharmacies today are being very careful of what they provide in order to prevent misuse of medications and medical devices. They are obligated to undertake certain precautions. Syringes are a particular area of concern because of the potential for unlawful drug usage. Even certain quantities of over-the-counter medication can't be purchased because of the misuse for illegal drug labs. Without knowing the explicit details of your situation, it is impossible to determine if you have a legitimate cause of action. You should seek an attorney in your area for consultation to determine any actions you should take.
