Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
I am 28 and illegal. Been in the U.S since 5 but lost student visa. Can my uncle who's a citizen adopt me to fix my status?
I'm 28 now and came into the U.S when I was 5 with a student visa. I lost my student visa because of poor grades in high school so I have been illegal ever since. I want to know if it's possible for my uncle (who's a citizen) to adopt me as an adult in order to fix my status and become legal. Is this possible and what do I need to do if so?
1 Answer from Attorneys
No, it's not going to help you to obtain a legal status.
You may want to think about other options to adjust status.
