I had an exchange student 3 years ago and she would like to come back to America(florida) to visit. She would like to know id she can work while she is here for six months, and how can she get her visa.

No, she can't workin the USA if she comes as a Visitor on a Visitor's visa. To apply for a Visitor's visa, she should contact the US consulate in her native country and apply for an appropriate visa.

What are her credentials? If you would like, send me a copy of her resume or C.V. and I will see if she could qualify for an employment visa. What type of exchange program was she on before? Do you know if it was the J-1 Visa? There may be options, but more information is needed.
