Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
Hello,
I have a friend who is an illegal immigrant, he has lived here for a few years, I don't know how many but may be as many as 10 years, he entered legally but overstayed his visa. He has been working all those years but has not paid any taxes.
According to the law introduced in the Senate, does he has to pay all back taxes before he can even apply for legal status?
Thanks a lot for your time.

At this time, there is no law in effect, so it is all conjecture to discuss paying back taxes now. In the past, for benefits, such as NACARA, having paid taxes every year the person worked (even if without authorization), was important, if not necessary, to the case.
I would address this issue once a law is actually passed.
