If he is in the USA illegally, he will be referred for removal (deportation) to the Immigration Court.

Unfortunately, unless he is a Citizen of the United States, the U.S Government will seek deportation. As such, once he leaves the Criminal Jail, he will be transferred to the Immigration jail, where an Immigration proceeding will begin.
