Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

My husband just arrived one week ago from Egypt and was stamped on his passport with a CR-1 visa. Is he now required to file paperwork for a green card? What is the next step in the immigration process here in the US?

Thank you in advance for your time.

If he came as CR-1, it means that you had already filed the I130 and his Immigrant visa was approved. If this is the case, he shall wait for a Green Card to arrive in mail within a few weeks of his arrival in USA. Then, he can apply for a SSN.

After 2 years (90 days prior to 2-year deadline), you will have to petition to remove conditions from his conditional residency (I-751).
