Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
I married a US citizen. We were filling out form I-864, affidavit of support. My husband just graduated in 2008, his income for years 2006-2008 is almost twice less than required annual $17,500. Right after graduation he's got a job with $45,000 annual income (we can provide the stubs). How will his previous low earnings affect the USCIS decision? Do we need a co-sponsor?
1 Answer from Attorneys
If his current yearly income is above federal poverty guidelines for 2009, it should be okay, and no cosponsor should be required.
